Chinmaya Mission Yamunotri Summer Camp 2020- FAQ

Date: June 1 - 26, 2020


    1. Can I sign up for 1 week camp?
  • Sorry, our minimum enrollment period is 2 weeks and up to 4 weeks.
    2. Will you provide food during the camp?
  • Each camp attendee will bring a vegetarian sack lunch from home. Snacks (fruit, juice, crackers, etc) will be provided during camp. Friday lunches will be provided by our food team.
    3. What if my child has food allergies?
  • We will ensure that all children who have food allergies are properly identified and will not serve foods that contain those allergens.
    4. Is there early drop-off and late pick-up (after camp care)?
  • Yes. One hour prior to the start of camp (7:30 AM) and late pick-up until 5:30 PM. Camp times are Monday to Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm.
    5. How old does my child have to be for the camp?
  • The camp is designed for children based on the grade they will be entering in the Fall of 2020. It is for 1st to 8th graders.
    6. Can I volunteer as a parent?
  • Yes definitely! All parents are requested to volunteer for at least one or more days during the camp. Please sign up here to indicate the days you are able to contribute your time.
    7. Is there carpooling available to and from Chinmaya Mission?
  • Carpooling will be organized by the camp. If you are interested in carpooling, please indicate this during the registration process on the online registration form.
    8. Who will be teaching the classes and what are the benefits of this camp?
  • Under the guidance of Pujya Swami Sharanananda and Respected spiritual guides, we will offer quality, value-based classes and activities such as yoga, bhajans and class time in the morning to nurture your child's spiritual personality and growth. There will be professional qualified teachers to nurture their intellectual curiosity, skill development, and strengthen their physical body during the afternoon activities and a weekly Friday field trip
    9. How do I enroll my child in the program?
  • You can register your child by clicking here. Registration will be limited due to the nature of the classes and popularity of the enrichment classes. Register early to avoid disappointment and to get an early-bird discount!
    10. What is a typical day like at camp?
  • The mornings will be dedicated to spiritually-themed classes, bhajans/chanting, and yoga. After lunch and recess, the children will be provided with enrichment classes. There will be sufficient juice and snack breaks.

    12. Are there additional costs outside the camp fee and what does the camp fee include?
  • The camp fee includes all camp activities, material fees, field trip costs/transportation, snacks and Friday lunches.
    13. Am I able to get a refund if decide to not send my child to camp?
  • Refunds will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the camp coordinators directly if you need to cancel your child's registration.
