Cultural Festivals Celebration
We are busy with our worldly responsibilities and we find it difficult to connect with the divine. Festivals are strategically placed for facilitating us to connect with the divine on a regular basis. They enable us to learn and practice our culture and traditions. We celebrate many festivals by performing puja (worship) to the divine as a family. Children participate in cultural performances that deepen their knowledge and understanding. Acharyas give talks on the significance of festivals and their deeper teachings. Festivals are great opportunities for celebrations as a family. We celebrate the following major festivals in our Chinmaya Mission Center at Yamunotri.
- New Year Day Puja
- Makara Sankranti
- Maha Shivratri
- Holi
- Rama Navami
- Gurudev Jayanti
- Guru Purnima
- Krishna Janmashtami
- Radha Krishna Puja (Our Center Anniversary)
- Ganesh Chaturthi
- Navaratri and Dussera
- Deepavali
